What’s Up Coconut?

The juice inside of unripened (green) coconuts can provide potassium (600 mg/8 ounces), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), sodium (Na), and sugar (CHO).  Because coconut water  or juice has the same electrolyte balance as blood, making it isotonic, the juice has been called “The Fluid Of Life.” Because of very low blood supplies during World War II (1941-1945), the unripened coconut juice was used as a substitute for IV (intravenous) blood plasma. Blood plasma is made of mostly water, proteins and clotting factors. In emergency situations the coconut provided good medicine in a pinch for wounded soldiers.

  1. I love coconut juice and I am addicted to coconut oil. It cures so many things! I use it for everything! So good for your brain, skin, hormones……..and the list goes on. RH-s seem to really benefit from ingesting it. Yum!
