I’m B Rh- Scottish, grey/green/ yellow/blueish eyes.
I notice quite a majority of my friends happen to be Rh-.
I think the reason why Rh- has not been bred out over thousands of generations, although it is recessive, is because there is an instinctual attraction ( like a salmon returning to spawn) between Rh- but also Rh+ who do have the hidden allele rh-.
I also think I’ve started to recognise people who don’t have Rhesus.

On the paperwork of the babies was stamped UB- which the newsreader said meant unmariied baby minus. Notice he deliberately refrains from using the word negative. Please let me know what you think

29 year old female here .. I’m A-, I’ve had two O+ babies, took all 4 rhogam shots. My second child had congenital cytomegalovirus, my baby and I recieved two experimental, non FDA approved treatments of ganciclovir to stop the virus from further damaging my daughter. She just turned 4. I am in constant pain, dr finally ordered blood work relevant to autoimmune diseases. I’m afraid all the blood products I’ve received will create false positives. Nevertheless, I’m sure I am due to see the rheumatologist soon, as I’ve exhausted all other specialists. I’ve been an avid blood donor since I was 17, I wonder if I shouldn’t give anymore.

I am O Rh negative and Scottish. Fair colouring, dark hair and grey eyes. A few years ago I ran a poll on a website for Sutherland, Scotland which is frequented by descendants of Highland Scots around the world. We found a very high incidence of B- which I believe is specific to Celtic peoples and associated with fair hair and blue/green eyes.

Both of my children were rh+ and I am rh-, I had the shot for both children. My mother almost died carring me because she did not know (at the time) about the whole rhesus positive and negative thing. She is a postive and my other brothers are postive as well. Im the only offspring that is a negative. Thank goodness science has advanced or i would not be here today

I have always wondered how I am O negative and both my parents are RH positive O+ and A+. I think my grandmother (mothers side) had brothers that were O negative. Guess it is just a slim chance .

Could blood transfusions spread these genes? Do women giving birth to a baby often get transfusions at that time? We now know that the fetus’ blood circulates throught he mother’s body, even breaking the brain-barrier. So perhaps our partner’s infect us (via the fetus).

I dont understand the possible child type. You are either positive or negative when you have a blood test. You can’t test for recessive Rh, so how would you really know?

In the middle row (4th row down) both the parents are Rh+ but carry a recessive Rh- allele. Statistically they will produce an Rh- child 25% of the time.
